Hello friends, my Wife, Mary K, and I would like to take a moment to introduce you to ‘The Disciple Shoppe’ where we intend to teach and preach Full Gospel Evangelism… but first a little history.
Thirty-two years ago, I answered the Lord’s call at the still somewhat teachable age of forty-four in my office in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina after being presented with the gospel two days before by a gentleman named Jim Evans whom I had a business dealing with. At the time of my salvation, I honestly couldn’t have identified more than a handful of my acquaintances as being “Christian”. Yet when people heard that I had gotten saved, suddenly everyone was a Christian, although none but Jim Evans had taken the time to witness to me.
Shortly before he passed away, my great-uncle by marriage, the late Bishop Robert McAlister, invited me for dinner and told me two things that have fueled my evangelistic efforts since.
1) Only two in ten thousand Christians witness effectively, and
2) Only two percent of all Christians pay their tithes.
I made up my mind that I would not be in either group, and so for the past thirty-two years I have shared Jesus all across the country with anybody that would stand still long enough. The one thing that I couldn’t be certain of though was whether my witnessing had actually made any lasting disciples.
Mark 16:15-18 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
While contemplating this a few weeks ago, I had the definite impression that God was telling me to teach the “Full Gospel” as opposed to a simple salvation message. It was during that afternoon that we birthed ‘The Disciple Shoppe’ with the goal of reaching a few dedicated followers of Jesus that would continue on in the same spirit.
A few months ago, after 22 years of joint ministry, Mary K and I felt led to teach and preach the full Gospel as taught by the Holy Scriptures. This includes a Salvation message, a Healing Message, and a message of hope for those that have not been taught Biblical truths about their Finances, instead of the watered-down versions preached by most of churches we have visited over the years.
